Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:18-20

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Youth Group Game: “Unscramble the Message”

Divide into teams and give each team a set of scrambled words related to the message of the cross (e.g., redemption, sacrifice, salvation). The first team to unscramble all the words wins. Afterward, discuss the significance of each word in relation to the cross.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before you today with grateful hearts, acknowledging the power and wisdom of the cross in our lives. Help us to embrace the message of the cross amidst the challenges of our daily lives. Grant us the strength to live according to Your wisdom, even when it contradicts the values of the world around us. Guide us as we seek to share this powerful message with others, and may Your love and grace shine through us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
