Introduction: Why This Matters
Ezra was a spiritual leader who helped God’s people return not just to their land, but to God Himself. When he saw the people compromising their faith, he didn’t react with rage—he responded with humble prayer and leadership. This story teaches us how to respond to sin with repentance and how God welcomes us when we turn back to Him.
1. Bible Reading: Ezra 9:5–9
“Then, at the evening sacrifice, I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands spread out to the Lord my God and prayed… ‘Though we are slaves, our God has not forsaken us in our bondage.'”
Explanation For Teenagers
Ezra didn’t pretend everything was okay. He got real with God about the people’s sin and showed that repentance means being honest and broken before God.
God isn’t interested in fake perfection—He wants hearts that are willing to turn back to Him.
