Introduction: Why This Matters
The book of Haggai is a short but powerful reminder that God should be our first priority. The people returned from exile but got distracted by their own lives and stopped rebuilding the temple. Through Haggai, God calls them back to put Him first—and promises to bless them when they do.

“‘Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little… What you brought home, I blew away. Why?’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.'”

2. Bible Reading: Haggai 2:4–9
“‘Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you… The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace.'”

God encouraged His people—not with guilt, but with hope.
He reminded them that their work mattered and that He was with them.
When we serve God with a sincere heart, He brings peace and purpose that lasts.
