Introduction: Why This Matters
Matthew 5 is part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. In this lesson, He tells His followers they are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. This means our faith should impact others and shine clearly in how we live. God calls us to live boldly and differently for His glory.
1. Bible Reading: Matthew 5:13–16
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Explanation For Teenagers
Salt adds flavor and preserves—Jesus is saying we should make the world better by living for Him.
Light shows the way. When we live out our faith, others can see the truth and be drawn to God.
Your words, choices, and actions matter—they are your testimony.
