Bible Reading: Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

Youth Group Game: “Yoke Relay Race”
Game Description:
- Objective: To understand the concept of being yoked with Jesus and working together.
- Materials:
- Two large pieces of cardboard (as “yokes”)
- Cones to mark start and finish lines
- Two small buckets of water
- Two sponges
- How to Play:
- Divide the group into two teams.
- Each team pairs up, with pairs standing side by side, each holding one side of the cardboard “yoke” over their shoulders.
- On “Go!”, the first pair in each team must run to the bucket, dip the sponge in water, and carry it back to their team using only the yoke.
- The first team to complete the relay wins.
Debrief:
- Ask the teams how it felt to work together while being yoked.
- Relate this to how Jesus helps us carry our burdens and how we can support each other.
Closing Prayer
“Dear Jesus, thank You for inviting us to come to You when we are tired and overwhelmed. Thank You for giving us rest and for carrying our burdens with us. Help us to trust You more and to learn from Your gentle and humble heart. Teach us to support each other and to find true rest in Your presence. Amen.”
I hope this lesson helps you understand and feel the rest that Jesus offers. Remember, no matter what you’re facing, Jesus is always there to help carry the load. Let’s keep coming back to Him for the rest we need.
