Youth Group Lesson: The Promise of the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-21)

Pin

As teenagers, we often struggle with finding our place in the world, seeking answers to difficult questions, and staying on the right path in our faith journey. In John 14:15-21, Jesus offers us a powerful promise in the form of the Holy Spirit – a guide, a protector, and a comforter who will never leave us alone. This is a vital topic for teenagers, as they navigate the challenges of adolescence and develop their personal relationship with God.

Bible Reading

Explanation

Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit to those who love Him and obey His commandments (v. 15-16). The Holy Spirit is a gift from God that will dwell inside believers (v. 17). This means that as Christians, we will never be alone – the Holy Spirit is always with us.

Jesus tells His disciples that the world will not see him again, but they will (v. 19-20). This is a reference to Jesus’ soon-coming death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit will serve as a reminder of Jesus, bringing His teachings and His presence to our hearts and minds.

The Holy Spirit will teach us all things and remind us of everything Jesus said (v. 26). This means that the Holy Spirit is a powerful teacher and guide. He will help us understand the Bible and apply its truths to our lives.
